Willett 6 Year Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Rye

The Willett Family Estate is a select line of ryes and bourbons that are single barrel collections, bottled at cask strength and aged in white oak barrels for differing lengths of time.  This in particular bottle was aged for 6 years from Barrel No. 163 at 58.4% abv.  These bourbons and ryes are sourced by different distilleries and not distilled specifically by Willett.

The nose on this particular bottle has a sweet and spicy rye nose.  The taste has a pleasant vanilla, sweetness to begin that transitions to a spicy rye that finishes long with some pepper.

While some will complain about the fact that Willett is sourcing the juice, it is still a solid rye.  They recently started to distill their own products so there should be few complaints in the very near future.
