Eagle Rare 17 Year Old

Eagle Rare, like George T. Stagg,  is one of five pieces of the Buffo Trace Antique collection.  This particular bottle is from the Spring 2014 collection and is bottled at 90 proof.

The nose is fragrant with notes of cinnamon and cedar.  The flavor is fantastic and the proof is spot on; vanilla and tobacco shine through.  The finish is smooth with toffee lingering.

This is a fantastic bottle of bourbon that uses the age to help perfect its flavor.  According to rumors this year’s batch is actually 19 Years Old so enjoy the extra two years of love.  There were only 26 barrels of this bourbon bottled this year so it will be difficult to track down.
