The 2017 Birthday Bourbon from the folks at Old Forester was barreled on May 25th 2005 and was bottled in 2017 after 12 years of aging in the barrel. The 2017 Birthday Bourbon does not disappoint, it is a smooth and balanced pour.
The nose has some nice burnt orange notes that mix perfectly with the char from the barrel. The taste is exceptionally smooth with the sweet chocolate, orange flavors balancing out the warm spice notes. The finish is long with the spiciness eventually giving way to pure sweetness.
