The 2016 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is bottled from 93 barrels distilled on July 4th, 2004. The master distiller of Brown-Forman, Chris Morris, hand-picked the barrels with Old Forester brand representative Jackie Zykan. Ultimately a little over 14,000 bottles were aged for 12 years and bottled at 48.5% abv.
The nose is very delicate with spicy and fruity notes. The taste is quite fruity and pleasant with a balance drier finish. Put it all together and it is a really well balanced, delicious bourbon. If you can track down a bottle, I highly recommend it.
