50% Off Your First Box Plus Free Breakfast for a Year

Factor's welcome offer is bigger than the pop-up lets on. The 50% covers your first box, boxes 2 to 5 get 20% off, and a breakfast item comes free with every box for as long as you stay subscribed.

See the Offer →

Factor delivers prepared meals that heat in two minutes, on a subscription that renews every week. That shape matters for what follows, because the headline discounts here land on your first few boxes rather than on an ongoing price.

The welcome offer is 50% off box one, 20% off boxes 2 to 5, and a free breakfast item in every box for a year. If you work in healthcare, teaching, the military or as a first responder, Factor runs a separate deal that beats it.

Everything below comes from Factor's own pages, including the terms that decide what the offer is really worth: what it excludes, and what happens if you cancel.

The signup pop-up advertises 50% off, and Factor's own terms spell out the rest: the 50% is the first box only, boxes 2 to 5 come at 20% off, and box 6 onward is full price. It needs a code and a qualifying auto renewing subscription, and it's for new customers or former ones whose account has been closed more than 270 days. It doesn't come off add-ons, meal upgrades, premiums, taxes or shipping.

See the Add-Ons →

This rides along with the welcome offer, and the small print is worth reading. It's one single breakfast item per box, not unlimited breakfasts, and it lasts only as long as you remain a subscriber. Factor states that canceling voids the offer and that it can't be reinstated if you come back later.

Factor's Hero Discount is the best deal on this page for anyone who qualifies, and most people never see it. It's 55% off the first box with free shipping on that box, then 15% off the next 51 boxes, which is a year of discounts rather than a month. Medical providers, nurses, hospital employees, teachers, first responders, military and veterans verify through ID.me or GovX. It can't be combined with the welcome offer, so you pick one.

Factor offers free personalized sessions with its registered dietitians, run as a 20 minute strategic session to build a nutrition plan around your goals. It costs nothing on top of the food, and it's easy to miss because it sits in a separate part of the site from the meal plans.

See the Plans →

Factor charges nothing to cancel, and you can skip a week instead. The catch is timing: everything locks on a rolling basis five days before your delivery, at 11:59 PM Central. Miss that and you're charged and sent that week's box, with the change taking effect the week after.
How Factor promo codes work

Factor runs one public welcome offer at a time and applies it through a code at signup, which the pop-up hands you when you give it an email. There's no separate sitewide code to hunt for, and the checkout does have a promo code box, so a code from elsewhere either works there or it doesn't.

The Hero Discount works differently. You verify your profession through ID.me or GovX, and the saving then applies at checkout by itself. Factor says it can't be combined with any other promotion, so it replaces the welcome offer rather than adding to it.

One thing Factor doesn't publish openly is what a box costs. Per meal pricing only appears once you enter a zip code on its plans page, and it changes with how many meals a week you order, so treat any per meal figure you see quoted elsewhere with caution. A shipping fee applies on every delivery.

Work out which offer you qualify for before you sign up, not after. The two can't be combined, and the Hero Discount is worth far more over a year than the welcome offer is.
How to get the best price at Factor
  1. If you work in healthcare or teaching, or you're a first responder, a veteran or serving, check the Hero Discount first. It's bigger and it runs for a year rather than a month.
  2. Otherwise take the welcome offer through the signup pop-up, since it needs a code and only new or long lapsed customers qualify.
  3. Add a breakfast item to every single box while the free breakfast perk is running, because it's one item per box and unused ones don't roll over.
  4. Book a free coaching session. It costs nothing and it's separate from what you spend on food.
  5. Set a reminder five days before your delivery day, because skipping, changing and canceling all lock at that point.
About Factor

Factor is a prepared meal delivery service. The meals arrive fresh rather than frozen and heat in about two minutes, and the weekly menu rotates through more than 100 dishes alongside add-ons like breakfasts, smoothies and snacks.

It runs as an auto renewing weekly subscription that you can skip or cancel, with plans sized by how many meals a week you want. The company trades as Factor75, LLC and is incorporated in Delaware.

Factor vs Home Chef

Home Chef is the closest comparison we could verify from its own site, and the deadline row is the one that costs people money. Both services charge you for a box you forgot to skip.

 Factor Home Chef
Change or cancel deadline Locks five days before delivery, at 11:59 PM Central Friday at 12 PM Central the week before delivery
Cancellation fee None, and you can skip a week instead None stated, and pausing works as a cancellation
Miss the deadline You're charged and sent that box, change applies the week after Orders that have finalized or shipped can't be canceled

  • Factor runs a standing welcome offer rather than seasonal sales, so there's always something for a first box.

What stacks and what doesn't
1
The welcome offer and the Hero Discount can't be combined, so you take whichever one you qualify for.
2
The 50% lands on the first box only. Boxes 2 to 5 get 20% off, and from box 6 you pay full price.
3
Discounts don't come off add-ons, meal upgrades, premiums, taxes or shipping, and a shipping fee applies to every delivery.
4
Cancel and the offer is void. Factor says it can't be reinstated if you reactivate later.
5
Skipping, changing and canceling all lock five days before your delivery, at 11:59 PM Central.
Factor deal questions
Does Factor have a promo code right now?›
Yes. The signup offer is 50% off your first box, 20% off boxes 2 to 5 and a free breakfast item in every box for a year. It needs a code, which the pop-up gives you for an email address, and it's for new customers or former ones who closed their account more than 270 days ago.
What does free breakfast for a year actually mean?›
One single breakfast item per box, for as long as you stay subscribed. It isn't unlimited breakfasts, and Factor says the offer is void if you cancel and can't be reinstated if you come back.
Is there a bigger Factor discount than 50%?›
Yes, if you qualify. The Hero Discount gives 55% off your first box with free shipping on it, then 15% off the next 51 boxes. Medical providers, nurses, hospital employees, teachers, first responders, military and veterans verify through ID.me or GovX. It can't be combined with the welcome offer.
How much does Factor cost?›
Factor doesn't publish a price until you enter a zip code on its plans page, and the per meal cost changes with how many meals a week you order. A shipping fee applies on every delivery, and the discounts above don't come off it.
Can I cancel Factor at any time?›
Yes, and there's no cancellation fee. The timing is what matters: everything locks five days before your delivery at 11:59 PM Central, and after that you're charged and sent that week's box, with the cancellation taking effect the following week.
Does the discount apply to add-ons?›
No. Factor states the offer isn't valid on premiums, meal upgrades, add-ons, taxes or shipping fees, so the saving comes off the meals themselves.
The Bottom Line

The honest read on Factor is that the discounts are a front loaded welcome rather than a cheaper way to eat long term. 50% off one box and 20% off four more is real money, but box six arrives at full price and shipping is never included.

If you qualify for the Hero Discount, take that instead and you'll have 15% off for a year. Either way, put the five day lock in your calendar, because the most expensive thing on this page is a box you meant to skip.
