We’re mourning the sudden loss of comic, singer and actress Jan Hooks. Jan passed away on Thursday, October 9th, after it’s rumored she was recently battling an illness.
Noted as one of the best comedic actresses during her stint on Saturday Night Live from 1986-1991, Jan went on to star in cult classic, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, television show Designing Women and brilliantly played Jenna Maroney’s quirky mother on Emmy award winning 30 Rock. While Jan may have been a fan favorite for her SNL portrayals of Hillary Clinton, Tammy Faye Bakker and Sinead O’Connor, my absolute favorite was when she played Dixie Glick, the wife of Jiminy Glick (played by Martin Short) on “Primetime Glick.” Jan Hooks was 57.

We should have gotten more Jan Hooks than we got. What a ripoff. What a cheat. She was brilliant.
