Another excellent product from the house of Willett; a product that Robert Parker, the wine aficionado, claimed to be as close to Pappy as anything else he has tasted. The accolades may be too high but the product is delicious and unbelievably affordable.
The nose has a lemon hint coupled with a rich cereal quality. The taste has honey and carmel flavors that meld nicely with the smokey wood flavors. The finish is spicy with a minty, pine quality.
This is a superb product that is, these days, very difficult to track down. In many ways it is an equal or better product to the Old Bardstown Estate Bottled. For about $30 per bottle, I’d happily buy a case.
