I pulled out a bottle of Four Roses from last year, that is still a big winner. Not to be confused with the Four Roses 2014 Limited Edition. This particular bottle is from a single barrel, 47-3D; and bottled at barrel proof, 118 proof.
The nose is spicy with a nice amount of orange and a little bit of honey – a very nice overall balance. The taste is smooth but the spicy with orange flavors shining through. The finish is long and warm with robust spice notes.
This is a solid bourbon, I look forward to tracking down the 2015 version later this year.
