Johnny Drum Private Stock

Johnny Drum is a bourbon label made by Willett.  I find it to be both delicious and very reasonably priced.  It comes with a tiny booklet explaining that Johnny Drum was a drummer in the confederate army who returned home from the Civil War, to Kentucky, and distilled bourbon with his excess corn crop.  It used to be an easy bottle to find at your local liquor store but the secret is out so do your best to grab a bottle when you find one.

The nose is smokey and woody with hints of vanilla.  The taste is sweet with carmel and orange flavors.  The finish is spicy with wood and cedar notes.  The bottle is 101 proof but you can’t tell from the taste or finish, it is smooth and sweet.  A great bourbon to enjoy every day.
