Remember traveling? Ah, the good old days. There was even excitement in the planning stages, let alone taking the actual trip! We miss overwhelming text strings with what seemed like 800 messages trying to organize friends and families, planning dates that actually worked for everyone, and scoring hotels with beach access (and a little free breakfast for your family of five never hurt). While a lot of us aren’t ready to hop on a plane just yet, there’s something uplifting about trying to plan a trip. It makes us feel like there’s a little light at the end of the tunnel, and we had some fun scrolling through all the cool staycation hotels and cross country trip ideas on Expedia. Not that we won’t love the zen little oasis we’ve created in our own home. We’re just ready for a little zen somewhere else.
What Is It?
Chances are high that you are familiar with Expedia, and you’ve probably already used it. Expedia is a travel site, that allows you to book hotels, airfare, car rentals, things to do, and even travel packages, all in one place – essentially making you, your own travel agent. While we have worked with, and do love travel agents – you can book things quickly and easily here if you know exactly what you’re looking for. Choosing your preferred location, must-have amenities, room size and more will yield hotel search results that are right on track with what you need. It’s the same story with airfare. You can sort through the time of day you’d like to take off, any stops (no thanks!), and everything from economy to first class (insert Kristen Wiig’s “help me I’m poor” meme, here).
If you’re not a planner, this can finally work to your advantage! Some of the best deals we saw over on their website was the Last-Minute Deals sections. Over here is where you can find great hotel prices, and the discounts ran from 15% off, all the way up to 50% off. Although the average here was about 20% off. So we don’t see last minute as poor planning, we see it as spontaneous and living in the moment, right? And if you’re looking for the whole package (literally), they have travel packages. So you can organize your hotel, flight and car if necessary all on one swoop. A flight and 2 nights? Sold! We can definitely get behind a weekend getaway as a gift idea.

Are There Promo Codes or Coupons?
Unfortunately, no. We don’t have an exclusive on promo codes or coupons over here, and we weren’t able to find any that worked when we searched online. But, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to save a little cash when booking a getaway – whether it’s a few nights locally, or a trip across the country. Your best bet when searching for savings, is to head directly over to their website. Any current promotions, discounts, or last minute deals will be available right on their site – including saving 10% when you sign up for their rewards. You can take a look at the latest offers and available promotions here.
