Well, that’s not quite true, the Summer Rye is the perfect cocktail to try all year round, even the summer.
I first discovered the Summer Rye at Metropolis in the Outerbanks of North Carolina. Metropolis is an amazing tapas restaurants with an incredible martini list of over 80 concoctions. I’ve tried a few, but my favorite by far is the Summer Rye. The key ingredient is St. Germain. “St Germain is the first liqueur in the world created in the French manner from freshly handpicked elderflower blossoms.” I mean, how can you go wrong with a description like that? The sweetness of the St. Germain, blends well with the complex flavors of the Rye.
