People spend a fair amount of their twenties, thirties and forties looking for the “one”; that special person who completes you and with whom you will joyfully spend the rest of your life. Today, more and more people are turning to technology (successfully so) to facilitate finding the one and generalized dating websites have proliferated so far that websites are now serving specific segments of the population, whether faith based, age based, or based on sexual orientation. With obvious barriers to entry, people using these sites have some degree of comfort that they will find partners with similar values, religions, preferences and lifestyles and, ultimately, get to the finish line faster than old school conventional trial and error.
And now, I am pleased to report that we are at the dawn of a new dating era. Just yesterday, I saw a commercial for FarmersOnly.com. Yes, yes you guessed it, a new site will be connecting single farmers everywhere. I had to immediately grab my computer to see if it was real. Now, I have nothing against farmers, but I do have a few questions:
What is the definition of a farmer? I grow tomatoes on my back porch, does that count? What about fish farms?
Some folks grow other things in varying quantities that may or may not be legal in their state; do they count as farmers?
How can the degree and depth of the farming be confirmed?
Are there farmer fetishes? If so, can people with a farmer fetish sign-up?
