The Juliette Bourbon Cocktail

I cleaned out the bar area of my apartment this week, getting ready for Thanksgiving, and stumbled upon a few old cocktail recipes that were totally worth revisiting.  The Juliette was one of those recipes and it made a glorious appearance today.   Lots of thanks to the folks at Chez Moi where we had the drink and who were nice enough to share the recipe.

The Juliette

1.5 oz. Bourbon

3/4 oz. Lemon Juice

3/4 oz. Simple Syrup

1 oz. Iced Tea

5 Mint Leaves

We like a version with a little less simple syrup, around 1/4 oz. in total.  Simple syrup is easy enough to make, equal parts sugar, boiling water and mix until the sugar dissolves.  Please also take the time to brew unsweetened black iced tea in order to make the Juliette.  I suggest slapping the mint to release the oils, shake with ice and serve chilled.  Pour and enjoy a perfect, relaxing afternoon.
